Schools have resumed in some states across the country amid the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country under the second wave.
The school resumption comes as many Nigerians raised concern over the safety of students and teachers alike.
The federal government through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 directive that schools should resume academic activities on January 18.
The Lagos state Commissioner for Education Mrs. FOLASHADE ADEFISAYO who earlier visited some schools said she is happy with the level of compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.
But some states including Edo have postponed the resumption date till February 1.
The President of the Nigerian Medical Association, Prof INNOCENT UJAH said the country should not toy with the lives of the school children.
Speaking on the matter, a member of the House of Representatives, AWAJI-INOMBEX ABIANTE said it was unfortunate that government did nothing to ensure safe return of students to schools while they were on break.
