Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has gifted N100,000 each to the 2024 Batch B, Stream 1 corps members posted to the state. Sanwo-Olu announced during his visit to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos for the closing ceremony of the Batch B, Stream One orientation course.
His Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, shared on his X handle on Tuesday that the sum of N100,000 for each corps member will be delivered next week directly to their accounts.
Additionally, the governor pledged N5 billion for constructing a new permanent site for the Lagos NYSC Camp and promised automatic employment in the Lagos Public Service for the top 100 corps members after their service year.
During the visit, Sanwo-Olu also donated a 32-seater Hyundai bus to the NYSC, which was delivered on the same day. Furthermore, he contributed N100 million to the NYSC and its support staff, urging the corps members to uphold the lessons of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork learned during the three-week orientation course.
