Benue State Governor, SAMUEL ORTOM, has come under attack from his Bauchi state counterpart, BALA MOHAMMED over his comments and handling of the farmer-herder clashes.
Governor, BALA MOHAMMED, also said that Fulani herders carry AK-47 for self-defence because they are being attacked by cattle rustlers.
MOHAMMED who spoke at an event by the state Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, commended the media in the state for their accurate reporting and for promoting peace in Nigeria.
He however faulted the notice to quit given to Fulani herders in some southern states, particularly Ondo, pointing out that the moves of the “southern governors are wrong.
But Benue state Governor, SAMUEL ORTOM, had earlier urged President BUHARI to push for a review of ECOWAS protocol for movement of persons, goods and services within states in the sub-region.
