July 3, 2024 Rescue Efforts Save Seven After Two-Storey Building Collapse in Lagos

Seven individuals were rescued from a two-storey building collapse at 12 Cameroun Street, Ewenla in the Mushin area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the building was newly constructed. The rescued persons, comprising three females and four males, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed that a thorough search of the rubble revealed no victims trapped beneath the collapsed structure.

The area has been cordoned off, and rescue operations are ongoing.
