Liverpool moved within touching distance of the Premier League title after securing a 2-1 victory over West Ham at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds entered the match with an eight-point cushion over Arsenal, who had dropped points the previous day in a 1-1 draw against Brentford. Arne Slot’s side took control early, with Mohamed Salah setting up Luis Díaz to open the scoring in the first half.

West Ham drew level late in the game through an unfortunate own goal by Andrew Robertson, setting up a tense finish. But Liverpool’s captain Virgil van Dijk rose to the occasion, heading home the winner in the 89th minute to seal all three points.

With this win, Liverpool now sit 13 points clear at the top of the table and need just two more victories from their remaining fixtures to be crowned Premier League champions.
