As Nigeria awaits delivery of the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine from World Health Organization’s COVAX today, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force, BOSS MUSTAPHA has said taking delivery of the vaccines will come with its own challenges.
He said Nigeria will receive 3.92 million doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines today.
The country is expecting a total of 16 million doses of the vaccine that will be delivered in batches over months.
According to BOSS MUSTAPHA, vaccines alone are not a complete solution to ending COVID-19.
While stating that frontline health workers and persons above 60 years of age will be considered first for vaccination, MUSTSPHA mentioned several factors that may impede effective distribution.
