In a significant move, President Bola Tinubu has designated Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
Concurrently, President Tinubu has directed the initiation of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the incumbent NIMC DG, Aliyu Abubakar Aziz. This directive takes effect from Thursday, the 24th, and will ultimately lead to Aziz's retirement from service on the 24th of November.
Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale has conveyed that President Tinubu has also sanctioned the appointment of Yusuf Yakub to assume the role of Director/CEO at the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps, DTAC. This decision comes in the wake of the recent conclusion of the tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr Pius Osunyikanmi.
Ngelale further clarified that these appointments have an immediate implementation.
Coker-Odusote, the current General Manager and CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), steps into this pivotal role, signalling a period of transition and evolution within the NIMC.
