President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has constituted an Economic Advisory Council to replace the economic management team headed by Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO.

 This was announced in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA.

 The eight-man committee is headed by Professor DOYIN SALAMI with members including a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor CHUKWUMA SOLUDO, and renowned Economist, BISMARK REWANE among others.

 The Economic Advisory Council will advise the President on economic policy matters, fiscal analysis, economic growth and a range of internal and global economic issues while working with the relevant cabinet members and heads of monetary and fiscal agencies.

 The EAC will have monthly technical sessions as well as scheduled quarterly meetings with the President but the Chairman may request for unscheduled meetings if the need arises.
