Ogun State Police Commands says its operatives have neutralized two suspected bandits in a ferocious gun duel at Sawa Oyile forest in Yewa North Local Government area of the state, where the bandits were attacking some Fulani herders.
According to spokesman of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the bandits were killed following a distress call received by policemen attached to Oyetoro division. An inspector of police was killed by the bandits during the gun duel.
The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, expressed sadness over the death of the officer and directed that escaped members of the gang must be hunted down to face the full weight of the law.
