The Chairman Board of Trustees of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Senator Walid Jibrin has disclosed that the party is set to meet with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other aggrieved party members for a reconciliatory meeting.
The meeting will also include all the aspirants in the party’s presidential primary.
In a statement, Jibrin noted that there is no problem in the party as it has been envisaged in some quarters, saying that the seeming crisis is not out of control.
He also said the BoT, as the highest advisory body of the party is meeting tomorrow, the 3rd of August to discuss the issues accordingly by coming up with strong recommendations with the special committee for the special reconciliation of aggrieved members, especially Governor Wike.Â
Wike had on Sunday met with PDP governors and other stakeholders who coordinated his campaign for the presidential ticket.
During the meeting, it was gathered that the Wike camp demanded the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, as part of the conditions to work for Atiku.
