Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba, claims that robbers stole his World Cup winner's medal when they broke into his home.
When his home was broken into during his team's Champions League game against Atletico Madrid last week, the 29-year-old described it as his "family's greatest nightmare."
His two small children, as well as their caregiver, were present at the time of the robbery.
"The most important thing," he told Le Figaro, "is that my children are doing well."
In 2018, France won the World Cup, defeating Croatia 4-2 in the final in Moscow, with Pogba scoring the third goal for his national team.
Speaking about the stolen items, he said: "There were jewels from my mother, my world champion medal.
"What scared me the most was that my two children were at home with the nanny during this incident.
"She overheard everything, called my wife and security, then locked herself with the boys in a room. For several days, she was shocked."
The France international has been at United since re-joining the club from Juventus in a then-world-record £89 million trade in 2016. In the summer, his contract will expire.
Pogba is now on international duty with France, ahead of friendlies against Ivory Coast and South Africa.
