The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the certificate of return to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the winner of the Ondo State governorship election and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ceremony, held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, was attended by the governor-elect, who is also the incumbent governor, his deputy, the APC national chairman, and other key party members from the state.

In its remarks, INEC commended the electoral process, describing the Ondo governorship election as a true reflection of the will of the people.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emerged victorious in the election held on Saturday, defeating his closest challenger, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APC candidate secured 366,781 votes, while Ajayi, a former deputy governor of the state, garnered 117,845 votes—less than half of Aiyedatiwa's tally.

The governor thanked the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support and pledged to continue working towards the state's development.
