The National Security Adviser, BABAGANA MONGUNO has said terrorist groups are using social media platforms to recruit and radicalize youths.

He was speaking at the ongoing United Nations high-level conference of heads of counter-terrorism agencies of member states in the United States.

MONGUNO said the approach adopted by terrorists is to portray the government as incapable of guaranteeing the protection and well-being of its population.

In a statement from the office of the NSA, MONGUNO noted that it requires international collaboration to effectively deal with the complex nature of terrorism and other transnational organized crimes.
