There are strong indications that the nation’s University may soon be thrown into another round of industrial actions.
This is because the University workers under the umbrella of the Non-Academic Staff Union and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities have warned the Federal Government to brace up for an indefinite nationwide strike.
SSANU’s National Vice President, SOLOMON ALFA, disclosed this to at a news briefing following a meeting of the Joint Action Committee of both unions today in Abuja.
At the end of the meeting, the workers who are on a five-day warning strike asked government to prepare for what they termed as the “mother of all strikes”.
Both unions had directed their members to commence the warning strike from Monday to Friday in a letter jointly signed by the General Secretary of NASU, PETERS ADEYEMI and the National President of SSANU, SAMSON UGWOKE.
