Popular veteran Nollywood actress, Margaret Bandele Olayinka, who is affectionately known as Iya Gbonkan, has received an overwhelming response from well-wishers who have generously donated nearly N5 million towards her car and housing project.
The remarkable show of support came after a clergyman, Prophet Gabriel Agbala, responded to her plea for assistance in completing her house and acquiring a car.
Iya Gbonkan captured the attention of social media when she publicly appealed for help in accomplishing her longstanding goals.
In a selfless act, Gabriel took to Facebook Live on Tuesday to rally kind-hearted individuals from around the world to contribute funds towards Iya Gbonkan's cause.
Providing an update on the donations received thus far, Gabriel expressed his gratitude on Wednesday, stating, "N4.1 million has been raised for IYA GBONKAN HOUSE. N650,000 for MAMA ABENI AGBON. N650,000 for Mama Tamotiye."
“N500k on the ground for Mama Gbonkan’s car, work has started already, OSHOGBO. We are coming by Friday, next week.”
Appreciating everyone for their financial support in Yoruba, Iya Gbonkan said: “I’m thankful and I don’t have power; you are my backbone; you will not get tired.
“My matter will not get you tired, and you will not be indebted for the good thing you are doing to me.
“In the name of God, you will have enough to spend. You will not have pain, and in the name of God, you will not go blind.”
