August 14, 2019 Nigerian Medical Association Says Government Is Not Doing Enough In Health Sector

The President of the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr FRANCIS FADUYILE has lamented the lack of adequate support by the government in the nation’s health sector.

Dr FADUYILE was reacting to the recent travelling of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY and his wife ZEENAT to India for medical treatment.

El-Zakzaky and his wife arrived in New Delhi in the company of some family members and security operatives based on a leave granted by a Kaduna high court.

In an interview with Inspiration FM, the NMA president said though people are free to seek medical care anywhere, the government should pay more attention to the health sector in Nigeria.

Dr FADUYILE gave some suggestions on how the government can borrow a leaf from the countries who are benefitting from medical tourism.
