December 11, 2020 Nigeria Records 675 New Covid-19 Cases, Total Now 71,344

Nigeria has recorded 675 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 71,344.

According to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, it is the highest figure in five months.

Till date, 65,474 cases have been discharged and 1,190 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the FCT.

The 675 new cases were reported from 16 states with FCT recording 183 cases, Lagos 128, Kaduna 85, Kwara 57, Katsina 50, among others.

In a related development, The Nigerian Army cancelled the remaining activities of the annual conference after it was announced that a senior officer, Major General OLU IREFIN died from COVID-19.

Major General IREFIN, was a participant at the army’s 2020 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Abuja during which he fell ill and was taken to the hospital on Tuesday evening.

He later tested positive for COVID-19 and was receiving treatment before he died.
