October 16, 2019 NIGERIA JOINS THE REST OF THE WORLD TO MARK THE WORLD FOOD DAY.

Nigeria joins the rest of the world to mark the World Food Day. A Non Governmental Organization, the FoodClique, said government must ensure Nigerians have access to at least two square meal per day.

Founder of FoodClique, BOLAJOKO FADIPE said a situation where some families in the country go to bed hungry is unacceptable.

He also expressed worry with the statement made by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, SABO NANONO that the cry by some Nigerians of hunger in the land is laughable.

BOLAJOKO FADIPE said the Minister is far from the reality in the country.

According to him, the country must put measures in place to curb wastages saying the group plans to distribute free foods to those in Resettlement centre in Okobaba, Ebute Metta to mark the Day.

World Food Day is marked every October 16 to highlight challenges faced by the people in accessing food around the world.
