Lari Williams, Veteran Nollywood Actor, Has Died

He died at the age of 81.

The well-known actor died at the age of 81 after a protracted battle with an unidentified illness.

The veteran actor died at his home in Ikom, Cross River State, according to a statement given by his family to Punch.

Williams was known for his performances in hit soap operas such as Village Headmaster, Ripples, and Mirror in the Sun until his death.

Williams was a poet, writer, and acclaimed actor in both live theater and film, earning him a significant national honor in 2008 when he was named a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic.

The Nollywood veteran went to the London School of Journalism to study journalism.

To become a professional actor, he studied English at Morley College and drama at Mountview Theatre School and Stratford E15 Acting School in England.

The funeral plans will be announced as soon as possible, according to his family.
