The Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, has sealed off the remaining parts of the Alapere Estate Gate Bridge that was pulled down by a truck late last night.
An integrity test will be conducted on the other part of the bridge that is still standing.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, SOLA GIWA, at the scene of the incident.
GIWA said about 12 trucks were moving in a convoy, and 10 of them had successfully passed under the bridge, but the 11th one, due to overspeeding and a lack of patience, got stuck under the bridge, forcing it to collapse.
He noted that emergency responders have cleared the debris off the road to allow for free flow of traffic, while stressing that no casualties were recorded.
