September 19, 2023 Lagos Police Establishes 13-Man Special Investigation Team For Mohbad’s Demise

The Lagos State Police Command has formed a specialised 13-member investigative team tasked with unravelling the enigmatic passing of Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad.

This team will conduct a discreet inquiry encompassing exhumation, autopsy, toxicology, histology, scene examination, hospital and medical reports, and compiling statements from suspects and witnesses.

Mohbad, a former artist signed under Marlian Records, owned by Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, tragically passed away last Tuesday at 27.

Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, affirmed that all individuals associated with Mohbad's demise would be identified and thoroughly investigated to ascertain the extent of their involvement.

Earlier statements from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, emphasised that witness identities will be safeguarded, and the panel is expected to furnish an interim report within two weeks.

Since Mohbad's untimely passing and subsequent interment, there have been allegations implicating Naira Marley in the events leading up to the demise of the Afro-hip-hop sensation.
