The organized labour called on President Bola Tinubu to, as a matter of responsibility, call the Imo state government to order over it handling of the assault on it NLC president, Joe Ajaero.
The President of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, and Festus Osifo made this call at the protest by the unions at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The organized labour gathered at the airport around 8:58 a.m. to enforce their directive to members working in the aviation sector to stop all flights to Owerri, the Imo state capital.
The unions had earlier declared a nationwide strike, which will commence on Tuesday, November 14th.
Osifo said the protest was to call attention to the union’s grievances.
The president of the Aviation union, Comrade Kabiru Gusau also spoke.
