Veteran Nigerian singer Konga has publicly called out Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, accusing him of using his lyrics and rhythm without credit in some of his songs.
In a video shared on his TikTok page, Konga pointed out that Burna Boy name-dropped him in the Sungba Remix with Asake and allegedly incorporated his lines and rhythm in the song Update.
Rather than taking a legal approach, Konga is requesting a collaboration as compensation. He urged Burna Boy to feature on the remix of his track Kabakaba alongside Tiwa Savage.
“I’m calling out Burna Boy because I noticed he referenced me in Sungba Remix and also used some of my lines and rhythm in Update,” Konga stated.
He acknowledged Burna Boy’s appreciation for his style, saying, “I love the fact that you vibe with my flow, and I appreciate that. But as a way forward, I want you and Tiwa Savage on Kabakaba Remix. I’m calling you out with respect, and I look forward to your response.”
Now, fans are waiting to see if Burna Boy will acknowledge Konga’s request and join forces on the remix.
