February 8, 2023 Jump King! Osimhen Breaks Ronaldo’s Serie A Record

With a leap of 2.58 meters on Sunday during Napoli's excellent 3-0 victory over Spezia, Super Eagles attacker Victor Osimhen smashed Cristiano Ronaldo's previous record by four years.

When Osimhen scored Napoli's second goal of the day against the Little Eagles at the Stadio Alberto Picco, he accomplished the amazing achievement.

The header against Spezia was genuinely exceptional and may be a candidate for the best headed goal in football history, despite the fact that the Nigerian international has scored spectacular headers throughout his career.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored from the penalty spot to give Luciano Spalletti's team the lead after the first half ended scoreless, and Osimhen added the game's second goal with an incredible effort in the 68th minute.

The 24-year-old made an incredible 71-inch jump, rising to a height of 8.47 feet (2.58 meters), which was higher than the crossbar (8 feet), before beating Spezia goalie Bartlomiej Drgowski.

Osimhen reportedly reached a height of 2.58 meters with that leap, which is a height characteristic of great NBA talents, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Tutto Napoli).

By doing so, Osimhen broke the previous record for the Italian Serie A, which stood at 2.56 meters and was established by Ronaldo for Juventus versus Sampdoria in 2019.

Osimhen's previous record, which he achieved against Torino at the Diego Maradona Stadium last season, was 2.52 meters. This is a new personal career best for him.

However, the 2.62m world record achieved by Ugandan defender Bevis Mugabi at the Scottish Championship in January 2021 stands.

Osimhen has already scored 16 Serie A goals this season, which is a career high for a single season.
