The marriage of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and her husband Abdul Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, has collapsed.
The renowned rapper claimed that he made the decision to publicly disclose their breakup in order to let people know that he and Funke Akindele are already living separate lives.
"Dear Friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us," he wrote.
"I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. 3 months ago and at Funke's insistence I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship."
"I'm making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other," he concluded.
Trouble in Bello's family home initially came to light when the celebrity's stepson, Benito, accused her online.
Benito admitted that things were not going smoothly in one of Nollywood's most respected marriages when it was trending.
He claimed that Funke, his stepmom, was an awful person.
Following news of a marriage dispute between JJC and Akindele, he announced it.
Weeks later, Benito revealed that his father had reportedly abused him.
They split up, he claims, when he was expelled for bringing alcohol to class.
Benito described in great detail how the musician repeatedly struck him as they were driving home.
He said that he had ribs, his neck, and his face bruised.
He continued by revealing that his father and stepmother had been having an affair.
Benito claims that his father cheated on Funke, which resulted in a fierce argument. He further said that the actress had cheated on his father as well.
