The police in Lagos and Ogun States have initiated a collaborative patrol along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to bolster regional security.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police, revealed this in a recent post on his social media handle, @benHundeyin, on Thursday.
There have been reports of kidnapping incidents and other criminal activities occurring in various sections of the expressway, prompting this joint effort between the two states.
Hundeyin stated that the joint patrols would span from Kara Bridge to Sagamu Interchange. "In a bid to heighten security along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Lagos State Police Command, in conjunction with its Ogun State counterpart, has initiated joint patrols from Kara Bridge to Sagamu Interchange," he announced.
He reassured motorists not to be alarmed by the increased police presence on the road. "Motorists are encouraged not to be alarmed by the intensified police patrols, especially by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS). This proactive measure aims to deter crime and ensure the safety of travelers along this route," Hundeyin emphasized.
