Former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Prof USMAN YUSUF has warned that the country stand the risk of not conducting the 2023 general elections if it fails to nip the current security situation in the bud.
He said those suffering from insecurity challenges are not concerned about who leads the country after the 2023 general elections.
While speaking on a monitored programme, Prof USMAN YUSUF said the challenge is for the President to do all it takes to end senseless killings in the country.
According to him, despite the huge population, the north is still under-policed thereby making the people vulnerable to attacks.
Prof USMAN YUSUF said calls in some quarters for mercenaries to be engaged to clear the terrorists are not a bad idea.
