Africa’s top-ranked player, Aruna Quadri, has been ruled out of action for three weeks, Sports Extra reports.
Quadri suffered a thigh injury during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifying tournament in Tunisia, which saw him withdraw from his last qualification match against Hman Adam due to the injury.
Consequently, he finished third in Group A and is yet to qualify for the Olympics, but he stands a chance to qualify for the Olympics through the rankings.
The injury will also see him miss the International Table Tennis Federation World Tour tagged Qatar Open holding in Doha.
However, the Oyo State-born 2014 ITTF World Player of the Year expressed appreciation to fans across the world for their concern when he withdrew from the Olympic Qualifiers in Tunis.
