Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, has acknowledged that he has fallen short of expectations.
Despite being the longest-serving Minister in the industry, he expressed remorse about his failure to address a number of problems.
At the 66th National Council on Education (NCE) in Abuja, Adamu made this statement.
He expressed concern about the fact that, despite taking office as minister of education seven years ago with the intention of addressing the various problems that face the educational system, notably the problem of out-of-school children, he has, sadly, fallen short of all expectations.
However, he pointed out that there were several contributing elements, of which the United States' education commissioners were most likely the major one.
The Minister has also ordered the removal of all sexual education-related material from the curriculum being taught in Nigerian schools. He disapproved of those who advocated for sexual education, claiming that it was unnecessary and should not be promoted.
