October 18, 2024 Fubara Creating His Own Issues – Okocha Unveils 2027 Plans Against Rivers Governor

Former Rivers State APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, has accused Governor Sim Fubara of creating his own political problems, stating that efforts will be made to weaken Fubara's chances ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Okocha highlighted the ongoing rift between Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike, despite attempts by President Bola Tinubu and other political stakeholders to mediate. While Wike has expressed openness to a peaceful resolution, he insists that Fubara must follow the rule of law.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Okocha remarked, "Wike played a key role in making Fubara governor. Fubara was never a politician. Now, he's creating problems for himself, and it's our responsibility to demonize him and his party for the 2027 elections."

Okocha further stated, "For the next 10 years, I don’t see any politician dismantling the political structure Wike has built in Rivers State. Wike’s structure is too strong to be destroyed, at least not anytime soon."
