March 9, 2025 Fubara Calls Amaewhule and Others to Discuss Supreme Court Ruling

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called Speaker Martin Amaewhule and other lawmakers to a meeting at his office in the Government House, Port Harcourt, set for Monday. The invite came in a letter dated March 7, which surfaced on Sunday, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

The letter said, “Following up on His Excellency’s promise from my March 5, 2025 letter, I’m letting you know that the governor has received the Supreme Court judgment. He’s asked me to invite you and all the honorable members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to a meeting.” Danagogo explained that the governor wants to talk about finding a proper spot for Assembly meetings, sorting out unpaid allowances for lawmakers, presenting the budget, and tackling other issues to move the oil-rich state forward.

The details? “Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the Governor’s Office, Government House, Port Harcourt,” the letter read. It wrapped up with, “Thanks so much, sir. We’re looking forward to seeing you there to figure out the best path ahead for the people of Rivers State.”
