In the latest accolades from the Football Writers’ Association, Phil Foden, the talented player from Manchester City, clinched the prestigious Footballer of the Year award for the 2023–24 season. This victory marks a significant achievement for Foden, who secured 42 percent of the members' votes. Notably, he becomes the third Manchester City player in four years to claim this esteemed title, following in the footsteps of Ruben Dias in 2021 and Erling Haaland in 2023.

Additionally, Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, another standout from Manchester City, was honored with the women’s award. Foden's triumph saw him surpass strong contenders such as Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and his teammate Rodri, who secured second and third place, respectively. The top six contenders also included Martin Odegaard, Ollie Watkins, and Cole Palmer.

At just 23 years old, Foden's remarkable season showcased his prowess with 16 goals and seven assists in the Premier League alone. His impact extended beyond domestic competitions, with five goals, three assists in the Champions League, and two FA Cup goals. Foden's exceptional performances have undoubtedly solidified his position as one of football's brightest talents, earning him well-deserved recognition from the Football Writers’ Association.
