The federal government has said it is considering a nationwide ban on commercial motorcycles, popularly known as okada, as well as mining activities in a bid to stem the rising insecurity across the country.
The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami said this after the national Security Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.
This is coming few weeks after the terrorist attacks on the Kuje Correctional facility as well as others recorded nationwide.

Malami said several approaches for containing insecurity were deliberated during the meeting.
He said 'okada' provide the means of transportation for terrorists while mining is their source of funds for the purchase of arms.
The minister also talked about the various investigations and prosecution of some terrorists.
On his part, the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola insisted that there was ample intelligence but some people failed to do their jobs.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi said the president also wants them to address the adverse effects of insecurity on agriculture.
