Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has faulted the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) for its protest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Labour had this morning picketed the airport owing to its faceoff with the Imo State government after the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Joe Ajaero was assaulted.
The action disrupted activities at the airport, leaving many travelers grounded.
Reacting to the action at an aviation retreat in Warri, Delta State, and the aviation minister questioned why the unions targeted the sector.
He noted that the action adversely affected foreigners coming into Nigeria as well as ordinary Nigerians going about their normal businesses
Insisting that the ministry is not involved in Labour’s grievances, Keyamo also urged the unions not to allow their actions destroy the labour movement.
