The Federal Government's attempt to resolve with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to prevent an imminent nationwide strike due to the removal of fuel subsidies and the prevailing hardship in the country has concluded without a definitive outcome in favour of the Union's demands.
The meeting in Abuja brought together the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, and the Minister of State, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, along with NLC President Joe Ajaero and other prominent leaders.
Following the meeting, Minister Simon Lalong expressed that it had achieved a degree of success. Meanwhile, NLC President Joe Ajaero said they entered the meeting with mixed emotions, emphasising that the resolution path could be clearer.
