It was pure drama and high stake tension as Bisi Kolawole emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti state.
Kolawole, a former chairman of the PDP in Ekiti, floored ex-Governor Segun Oni and Kolapo Olusola, a former deputy governor of the state.
The primary election took place in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday.
Kolawole had resigned his position as Ekiti PDP chairman to contest the governorship election.
He was the preferred aspirant of former governor of the state Ayodele Fayose.
On a monitored interview, one of the aspirants, Senator Abiodun Olujimi said she quit because of gender bias and an unfair resolution of matters arising from a lingering controversial congress of the party.
