July 1, 2024 Family Clarifies: Ex-Konga CEO Imudia Did Not Commit Suicide

The family of the late former Chief Executive of e-commerce giant Konga, Nick Imudia, has refuted reports suggesting that the CEO of D.light International committed suicide. They clarified that investigations into his death are ongoing, and suicide has been ruled out as a cause.

In a statement signed by Dr. Anthony N. Imudia, the family dismissed news reports claiming that Nick had contacted his brother and daughter with instructions before his death. They expressed concern over the hasty reporting of his death, noting that the family was still at the hospital attempting to resuscitate him when the news broke.

"The Imudia family is displeased with the unprofessional manner in which the media has mischaracterized Nick Imudia's death as suicide," the statement read. "This position is supported by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, who has pledged to investigate Nick's sudden passing. Nick did not call his brother in America to discuss wealth distribution, nor did he contact his daughter with any instructions."

Describing Nick Imudia as coming from a closely-knit family that provided ample support, the statement continued, "Nick never exhibited signs of stress or depression at any point. The notion of suicide, as portrayed in the hastily reported news, is questionable."
