Anambra state where four people have reportedly died while 12 others were seriously injured following an explosion at the Chemical Market in Onitsha Head Bridge.

Goods worth millions of naira were also destroyed by the fire and several shops were razed.

It was gathered that the fire started at about 12:10pm yesterday as the chemical stored in the shops exploded sporadically.

Men of the Anambra and Delta states fire services were quickly deployed to put out the fire.

While the Spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu, said there was no casualty in the incident but an eyewitness account contradicted him.
