August 9, 2022 Everton Sign Conor Coady On Season-Long Loan

Everton have signed England international Conor Coady on a season-long loan from Wolves, who have captured Goncalo Guedes from Valencia on a five-year deal.

The Toffees have beaten West Ham to Coady's signature, with the deal bringing the 29-year-old's seven-season stay at Molineux - four of which as captain - to an end.

The move to Goodison Park presents Coady with regular first-team football and the opportunity to strengthen his claim to be included in England's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Coady was dropped by Wolves manager Bruno Lage for Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Leeds - the first time he had been intentionally left out of a Wolves game shirt since April 2017 - and he remained an unused substitute at Elland Road.

Coady is Everton's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of centre-back James Tarkowski and forward Dwight McNeil from Burnley and defender Ruben Vinagre from Wolves.

Coady made more than 300 appearances in seven seasons at Wolves after joining from Huddersfield.
