She made this disclosure during a meeting of heads of security agencies and service chiefs in Abuja on Tuesday. Nandap said, “We have diaspora sponsors; they are on our watchlist. Any attempt they make to come into the country, we’ll be notified, and they will be picked up and handed to the appropriate authority.”
In response to the protests, the Immigration Service has deployed more officers to both land and airport borders to ensure effective monitoring of entry points. Nandap also mentioned that the Service has increased surveillance to prevent foreign intervention in the country's affairs.
Yusuf Bichi, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), stated that the agency has identified some sponsors but declined to provide further details. Represented by the Service Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, Bichi added that some accounts linked to the protests have been blocked and that individuals operating these accounts from abroad are under surveillance.
