The unfortunate demise of Paul Omotoso, the Chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, has left a void in the political landscape.
Hailing from Imesi-Ekiti, Omotoso, a prominent politician and lawyer, succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Wednesday, as reported by his family.
Despite his recent participation in several political engagements, Omotoso's health took a turn for the worse on Tuesday, prompting his immediate transfer to a government hospital in the state capital. Tragically, he passed away thereafter.
This news comes as a shock to many, especially considering Omotoso's resilience, as evidenced by his recent abduction by gunmen in July 2023. Following a five-day ordeal, he was eventually released.
The loss of Omotoso closely follows the passing of Fatai Adams, Chairman of the Ondo State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who departed in mid-February. These consecutive losses are deeply felt across party lines and serve as a solemn reminder of the fragility of life.
