Cinema enthusiasts across Nigeria are in for a treat as the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) has announced that discounted tickets will be available on Saturday, September 2, in honour of International Cinema Day.
Opeyemi Ajayi, the national chairman of CEAN, shared this exciting news through a statement released in Lagos. The discount initiative aims to reward cinema-goers, rekindle the interest of former patrons, and encourage Nigerians to embrace the experience of watching movies in cinemas.
In alignment with similar initiatives in the United Kingdom and the United States of America, Nigeria's cinema industry is embracing National Cinema Day. On September 2, 2023, cinema lovers can enjoy a day at the movies for the special price of ₦1,000. This one-day event will take place across more than 50 cinema locations nationwide, featuring over 100 screens.
Ajayi expressed his enthusiasm about the event, stating, "We believe this will bring together audiences of all ages to enjoy a day at the movies and see any movie of their choice at a discounted ticket price of ₦1,000. We are doing this to thank movie-goers, promote the cinema-going culture, and remind audiences about the magic of cinema."
As cinema-goers in Nigeria anticipate this exciting opportunity to celebrate the magic of movies, National Cinema Day promises discounted tickets and the chance for families, friends, and individuals to come together and experience the joy of cinema on a day dedicated to this shared experience.
