Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles' goalkeeper, apologised to Nigerian fans following the team's defeat in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.
Despite initially holding a one-goal lead, the Nigerian side ultimately succumbed to a 1-2 defeat against host Ivory Coast. Nwabali expressed his frustration at the outcome, labelling it a "frustrating end," and assured fans that the team would shoulder full responsibility for the loss.
Nevertheless, he thanked the nation for its unwavering support throughout the tournament.
