Embattled activist lawyer Dele Farotimi has regained his freedom after fulfilling his bail conditions.
Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore shared the update, announcing that Farotimi is on his way back to Lagos from Ekiti State.
In a post on X, Sowore wrote: “I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”
This follows a ruling by a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti, which granted Farotimi bail set at ₦30 million.
The activist lawyer had been arrested earlier in the month over allegations of defaming Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Afe Babalola University founder, Afe Babalola.
Farotimi was previously remanded at a correctional facility in Ado Ekiti, where he arrived at the Magistrate Court premises last Friday under heavy security.
