On Thursday afternoon, commuters heading out of Lagos, Nigeria’s bustling economic hub, were stuck when two fallen containers clogged up the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The first container dropped at 10:50 a.m. on Kara Bridge, and the second hit at 2 p.m. on Long Bridge. Hundreds of vehicles were left sitting still because of the mess.
As of this report, the traffic jam stretched back to Otedola Bridge and even reached the Alapere area. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, told FRSC officers, along with other agency workers, are clearing the road. She said no one was hurt, and first responders are there keeping traffic rules in check and trying to fix the situation.
