Victor Boniface shared his excitement after making his UEFA Champions League debut for Bayer Leverkusen. Boniface played in Leverkusen's dominant 4-0 victory over Feyenoord at the Stadion Feyenoord in Rotterdam on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old Nigerian forward was on the pitch for 62 minutes before being substituted by Patrick Schick. Reflecting on his journey, Boniface recalled his early days in Akure, where he paid just 30 naira to watch Champions League matches at the 323 Army Barracks.
He expressed his pride in the milestone on social media, writing, "From paying 30 Naira to watch Champions League football at night back then at 323 Army Barracks, Akure, to playing my first Champions League game. Proud of this moment."
