Campaign Against Impunity Makes Fresh Demand For Release Of Detainees In Nigerian Navy Custody

National Coordinator, Campaign Against Impunity, SHINA LOREMIKAN, has made fresh demand for immediate and unconditional release of all detainees in custody of the Nigerian Navy.

 

He also asked the federal government to launch thorough investigation into the detention facilities operated by the Navy in parts of the country.

 

SHINA LOREMIKAN was speaking ahead of the move by the Navy to arraign the detainees today in Lagos.

The Islamic Movement of Nigeriaalso known as Shiites has announced temporary suspension of free IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY protest.

 

It says the decision was based on appeal to the group by well meaning Nigerians on possible amicable resolution of their demands.

 

On Tuesday, the IG of Police, MUHAMMED ADAMU also announced a nationwide ban on protest and procession by the group.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has said that the country’s security architecture will soon be restructured.

 

He also said drones will be deployed in parts of the country, especially in the South-West, in new measures underway to combat banditry and kidnapping.

 

The President gave the information during closed-door meeting traditional rulers from the South-West in Abuja on Wednesday.

13 Days After She Was Abducted Mrs. Beauty Siasia, Mother Of Ex-Super Eagles Striker, Samson Siasia Yet To Regain Her Freedom

fourteen days after she was abducted Mrs. BEAUTY SIASIA, the 76-year-old mother of ex-Super Eagles striker, SAMSON SIASIA, is yet to regain her freedom.

 

The septuagenarian and two other women were abducted at her Odoni family compound in the Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State by unknown gunmen on the night of July 15, 2019.

 

The kidnappers came around 2am in the dead of the night and fled through River Nun into the creeks after abducting Mrs SIASIA.
