Heavy Security Presence Around Ojota As Organizers Of Hashtag Revolutionnow Vow To Continue Protest Today.

The Coalition for Revolution has vowed not to back down on its five-point demand.

 

The co-convener of the group, KUNLE AJAYI disclosed this at a press conference in Lagos while stating the position of the movement.

 

They insisted that they would converge on the Freedom Park in the Ojota area today despite the resistance from the police yesterday.

Our correspondent reports heavy presence of soldiers could be seen at all entrances to the park.

Air Marshal SADIQUE ABUBAKAR, the Chief of Air Staff, has insisted that the terrorist group, Boko Haram, has been substantially degraded in capacity and operations by the Nigerian military.

 

ABUBAKAR made the assertion while speaking on a monitored television programme.

 

The Chief of Air Staff admitted that the war against terrorism has not been completely won, but maintained that the situation is far better than what the armed forces had to deal with in the years before 2015.

Dss Promises To Comply With Court Order On El-Zakzaky

The Department of State Services, DSS has promised to comply with an order of a court which granted permission to IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY, the detained leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria IMN to proceed to India for medical treatment.

 

The agency expressed its commitment to facilitate EL-ZAKZAKY’s release for his medical check-up in a statement issued by PETER AFUNAYA, the DSS spokesperson.

 

The Kaduna State High Court on Monday approved the request of the IMN leader, who has been in custody since 2015, to undergo a medical check-up in India.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has commended Nigerians who deliberately ignored calls on social media to join a phantom revolution but instead went about their businesses.

 

 

The President disclosed this in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, GARBA SHEHU, in Abuja.

 

 

SHEHU stated that the president was humbled by the support, not for himself, or the governing party – but for the democratic values of modern-day Nigeria.
