Nigerians In South Africa Protest Arrest Of Omoyele Sowore

Some Nigerians residing in South Africa have protested the arrest of a former presidential candidate in the 2019 elections, OMOYELE SOWORE and other members of the Revolution Now protest who were arrested by State Security Service.

 

The protesters under the auspices of ‘Take It Back’ took to the nation’s High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital demanding among other things, a better governed Nigeria, better security, safety for Nigerians in the diaspora.

 

The aggrieved protesters who were initially received by a senior official in the embassy insisted on seeing the Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador KABIR BALA.

FCT Court Orders National Assembly To Halt Take Over Of Edo House Of Assembly Legislative Duties

 

 

Abuja Federal High Court has ordered both the Senate and the House of Representatives to halt their plan to take over the legislative duties of the Edo State House of Assembly.

 

Justice TAIWO TAIWO made the order at the resumed hearing in the case instituted by the Edo State Government to challenge the directive by the chambers of the National Assembly to Governor GODWIN OBASEKI, to issue a fresh proclamation of the state’s House of Assembly.

 

The National Assembly threatened to take over the legislative duties and powers of the Edo State House of Assembly should the governor fail to make the fresh proclamation with three weeks.

Kaduna Government Moves Against El-Zakzaky’s Release, To Appeal Court Ruling Today

The Kaduna State Government is expected to, today, file an appeal against Monday’s decision of the state’s High Court allowing the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh EL-ZAKZAKY, and his wife, ZEENAT, to seek medical trip in New Delhi, India.

This was disclosed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Kaduna State, DARI BAYERO.

According to BAYERO, the government would file the appeal against the decision of the court along with “terms of agreement” for the cleric’s planned foreign trip.
