South-West States Hold Public Hearing On Operation Amotekun

South-West states have held public hearings on the creation of a bill to establishsecurity outfit, Amotekun.

 

At the event in Oyo state, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state said the incorporation of its members will be beneficial for the development of peace in the state.

 

A former chairman of MACBAN in the state,Yaqub Bello expressed the support of Miyetti Allah, saying only “haters of truth” would oppose the Amotekun initiative.

 

In Lagos, the speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa declared that Amotekunin the South West has come to stay.

 

He said it will include the amendment of the Lagos state Neighborhood Safety Corps Agency Law 2019.

APC Condemns Call By PDP For Supreme Court To Review 2019 Presidential Election Judgment

The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Supreme Court to review its judgment on the 2019 presidential election with regards to the case of certificate forgery against President Muhammadu Buhari.

PDP spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja.

Ologbondiyan stated that the Party had no option than to seek a review, following the manner with which the All Progressives Congress has conducted itself after the ruling on the Bayelsa State Governorship election which ousted the APC candidate.

But reacting in a statement, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu said the call by the PDP has exposed the opposition party as a joke.

He said the PDP has been exhibiting strange behaviors since it was rejected at the polls in 2015.

Back in December 2019, the American rapper was in Nigeria and Ghana for a concert organized by Livespot. While she was around in Nigeria, videos and pictures of her having a good time went viral.

Will South Africa show Chioma B a good time the way Nigeria did? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Maryam Sanda Approaches Court Of Appeal To Vacate Death Sentence Ruling.

Maryam Sanda has approached the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgement.

She filed the appeal three weeks after she was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging by the FCT High Court over the death of her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.

In the Notice of Appeal predicated on twenty grounds, Sanda prayed the appellate court to set aside the verdict of the lower court and acquit her.

She claimed that the trial judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, was tainted by bias and prejudices.

According to the appellant, this led to the denial of her right to a fair hearing and her consequent conviction based on circumstantial evidence.
